Connecticut has enacted a new law that imposes penalties on "runners" (people who rush to accident scenes or hang out in Emergency rooms in order to steer victims toward specific doctors or personal injury lawyers) and those who hire them. Connecticut is now among 10 states that have enacted such a law. Lawyers will face as much as a year in jail and a fine of up to $5,000 if they're caught hiring runners to drum up personal injury litigation business. The same penalties apply to anyone who is acting as a runner. Go
