A 43 year old man going by the name Perry Mason, was arrested in Houston for practicing law without a license. Perry Mason is the name of the lead character (a lawyer) in a series of mystery novels by Erle Stanley Garner, later portrayed in movies and TV by actor Raymond Burr. The typical plot of a Perry Mason novel involves Mason's efforts to represent a client accused of murders he or she did not commit by disocovering the real murderer.
