Possible changes to admission (and readmission) rules in Florida

The ABA is reporting today that a report by a group reviewing Florida bar admission standards has called for a number of changes, including a permanent bar on readmission for any lawyer who is convicted of a felony. The commission also recommended better supervision of those conditionally readmitted because of prior drug, alcohol or mental health issues, and extending the maximum amount of time that a Florida lawyer can be suspended from practice from three years to five years.
